2024 Grand Day Out

Our 2024 Grand Day Out is a little less ambitious than last year but still promises to give us a decent ride out. This time though, we'll head south and west around the region.

Our plan is to start at the Three Horse Shoes at 10.00 and head off to the Riverside Kitchen at Chollerford for our first coffee stop. We should arrive there at about 11.00

From Chollerford we will head to the Hemmel Cafe at Allenheads for lunch, the route taking us via Haydon Bridge where we'll cross the river, and then head through Alston, Nenthead and then on to Allenheads. All being well we should be there for lunch at 13.00.

There is a route back from Allenheads via Hexham, Corbridge, the military road, and Ponteland which I think will take about 90 minutes, for those who want a quicker route there is always the A69 /A1 which I estimate would be 30 minutes quicker.

We hope as many people as possible will join us, either for the whole day out, or perhaps just for coffee at Chollerford.
