Robin Hood Series 3a week 7

Another week over and more progress has been made, The rear axle is in all fitted up, just needs the handbrake connecting and the rear brake pipe running in and connecting and that's the back end all finished until I stast the wiring. Got the fuel tank cleaned out and fitted and ran the fuel line in , I have decided to use an electric pump so plumbed that in as well as the in-line filter Drilled yet more holes and fitted the seat belt mounts, then took the plates out again to wait till they are painted to fit

Stripped the windscreen and supports off the old one and tried it to see if the fit is the same and it is perfect so set about cleaning the rust off the brackets, they are well rusted so i have a new set off the new car so I might just paint up the old ones and over the winter get the new ones shaped and painted to replace them. I have made a start at stripping the dash out but I think the car was built around the dash as things are next to impossible to get out, the heater is half on each side of the bulkhead wedged into a 10inch hole cut into the bulkhead, I am yet to find where the pipes come through or how the heater is held in. Wet weather today so I am having a day off I have worked 8 hours a day for the last 10 days so I think i deserve it. oh I put the steering column in but found that the wheel is too high and the hole in the bulkhead has been hacked arround so I am going to have to cut the hole out of the old car and bolt it up into the new one, I have ordered a spherical bearing to bolt up to the bulkhead to keep the column more solid.not quite sure how i am going to drop the wheel yet-most people are trying to lift their's.
