Sunday run to Stanhope

After consulting the weather forecast on Sunday morning we decided to cancel Sunday's run to Stanhope due to poor weather. Arthur turned up at the Holiday Inn to see if anyone had turned up and was surprised to see three cars there. Having arrived in the Skoda he nipped home to change cars. The TVR wouldn't start (starter not engaging) but after about six attempts it started. When Arthur got back there were more cars - 7 in all! It was decided to go to Alnwick instead. The cars parked in the square and created quite a bit of interest. After coffee the run headed west on lovely roads then turned left onto the A697 where Arthur lost everyone ( He said "silly me" :-) )

So from a bad start it worked out really well and fortunately no more starting problems.

The southern contingent (Mike and Denise) decided to have a run out anyway and went up the Wear Valley through Wolsingham and Stanhope to Alston and then back home via Barnard Castle for coffee. There were a few small showers and was a bit misty on the tops but it was glorious in Barnard Castle.
